With over eleven years working in the music industry, I am ready to launch a career in sound design for video and multimedia content. Having spent nearly twenty years in San Francisco and six years in Ireland, I bring a unique perspective to any project on which I am working. While my main area of expertise is sound production, I am experienced in the full range of tasks associated with multimedia production, including initial concept, writing scripts, camera work and editing footage into a final product.
My interest in music started young – at fifteen I co-founded Infinite Return with which I first experienced the excitement of setting up a garage studio, recording a seven-song album, and promoting and performing with the band in venues around the San Francisco Bay Area. My dedication to the industry developed rapidly from there. I studied Music Production at San Francisco State University and worked as a sound engineer for 3 years in Gimme Danger Studios and at live venues such as Slim’s.
I moved back to Ireland in 2007 to pursue a career in the Irish radio industry. Check out the audio section to hear some of my work for Radio Kerry, KCLR 96FM and iRadio.
I developed an interest in broader music technology and am currently completing my third year of a four-year undergraduate degree in Music, Media and Performance Technology from the University of Limerick. In my spare time, I am Production Manager for UL FM, the new internet station for the University of Limerick of which I was a part of the team that led the launch in 2011, and I also tutor students in Java, Max/MSP/Jitter, ProTools, and Processing. I am on track to graduate in June 2013.
